A small seating area notwithstanding, Wangs Kitchen Chennai is by far one of the best Chinese restaurants in Chennai. And I say this after going to the place umpteen times over. I am really fond of Chinese, more so when there are good restaurants like Wangs Kitchen to go around. Frankly speaking, having come across several positive reviews of the restaurant while scouring around for good restaurants in Chennai online, I made up my mind to visit this eatery and made up my mind that I would do so that very day, no dilly-dallying around.
First Visit to Wangs Kitchen
Walked in to Wangs Kitchen located on the Village Road in Nungambakkam that weekend for the first time. The decor and ambience of this Chinese restaurant surprised me - the interiors had a base of red, with subtle colours playing around here and there but the highlight of the entire decor was the lighting done at the place - I have been to a relatively good number of Chinese restaurants in Chennai, but not one has caught my eye in the first visit like Wangs Kitchen did.
A good first impression can go a long way and only lead to bigger and better things, I thought to myself, as I settled down with the restaurant menu. The place seemed to have not many tables, maximum about twelve (though this is just an estimate, I didn't really count), but the tables were arranged in a very cozy manner, I noted. However, first things first, I decided, and turned to give my full undivided attention to the Wangs Kitchen menu.
Wangs Kitchen Food
The menu had almost every Chinese dish you could think of - what's more, it even had different types of one particular dish for you to take your pick! By the time I had chosen what to order, this Wangs Kitchen outlet in Chennai was almost bursting to its seams - it was full up. I had arrived at just the right time, I thanked my stars.
My order arrived. Here's my short and sweet review for each dish. Chicken spicy fried - wow. Spicy just to the right degree, fried just to the right extent. Chicken Schezwan sauce - Wangs Kitchen, you need to be applauded for this. The best schezwan chicken I've had in a long, long time. And the chicken pieces were so succulent and juicy that they just seemed to melt in my mouth. Veg Mandarin noodles in soya sauce - tasty enough and more than enough for two people.
In short, the opening of Wangs Kitchen in Chennai seems to be one of the very best things that has happened to Chennai in a while now. As I said before, there is a dearth of good Chinese restaurants in Chennai. Wangs Kitchen seems to have come in to fill up this absolute necessity of Chinese food in Chennai.
Wangs Kitchen Chennai - Order Online
One can find some small roadside stalls and eating joints that claim to serve Chinese, but a proper sit-in, dine-in place like Wangs Kitchen was missing. One word of caution though: Wangs Kitchen prices may be a tad higher than you would expect. But then, when the Chinese food is as delectable as Wangs Kitchen serves it, one doesn't complain. And the best thing I've kept for the last, one can also order Chinese food online from Wangs Kitchen now and get home delivery of food! Menus online, orders online, order status online - just one click and your order gets confirmed. And then, just wait for your doorbell to ring. Wangs Kitchen Chennai - the best Chinese food I've had in a long time!
